B.C. avalanche kills two, injures 30Revelstoke, B.C.'s annual event, Big Iron Shootout on Boulder Mountain, ended in disaster on March 13, when an avalanche toppled upon the some 200 people taking part in the snowmobiling event.
RCMP announced later on March 14 that almost everyone was accounted for. After fears that dozens were missing, police checked approximately 40 hotel rooms to try and locate those participating in the event.
Final reports conclude that two are confirmed dead, with 30 or more being injured - about 19 of which have already been released from hospital.
Witnesses claim that three snowmobilers racing up the mountain to see who could go the highest triggered the avalanche.
No charges have been confirmed by police.

Thousands protest

Tens of thousands of protesters marched in red in Thailand on March 15, demanding that Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajva dissolve parliament.
His government refused this request, but did say that they would be willing to hear what the protesters had to say.
Protesters set another deadline, threatening to pour one million cubic centimeters of blood on the headquarters in Bangkok where the current Prime Minister has been hunkered down in recent days.
The protesters are supporters of ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. More than 100,000 protesters have been camped in the capital since the weekend.
Protecting the capital is a force of more than 50,000 soldiers, police and other security personnel.
