Pirate Radio, a period comedy about a freighter full of DJ's who broadcast rock'n'roll to Britain in the '60s, is a bad movie. Sort of. This film suffers for one reason: it was released at the wrong time. This is very much a "summer movie"; it has a fantastic soundtrack, a star studded cast of Britain's finest comedians and enough rockin' and rollin' dance montages to last you until, well, summer.
Vancouver's City of Glass are just one of those bands that are impossible to hate, not that you would want to. In fact, chances are that within the next few years, probably following an LP, they will become "that" band. The band that somehow strattles the line between indie credibility and mainstream success, while sounding equal parts Interpol and Pilot Speed.
