T-Mobile unveils first Google-powered phone

Google expanded its scope of operations into cellphone platforms last week when T-Mobile USA Inc. unveiled the first phone to use Google's own open source Android operating system at a news conference in New York. The cellphone, called the T-Mobile G1, features Google Maps with StreetView, YouTube and Gmail according to T-Mobile officials.

Sandisk reveals new music format

Despite the fact that music sales on physical media have been declining for years, or maybe because of it, a new microSD format called "slotMusic" was launched last week by Sandisk, the world's largest supplier of flash memory-based data storage devices. MicroSD format is more or less a memory card, like those used in cameras and phones.
