No epitaph yet for the Millennium Foundation

Despite intense lobbying by CASA, OUSA, and student unions across the country, the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation (CMSF) met its end with the unveiling of the latest federal budget. The Brock University Students' Union (BUSU), in being a member of both the Canadian Alliance of Students Associations (CASA) and the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA), had been a vocal advocate of the renewal of the CMSF, which was up for re-evaluation this year.

the Charlatan (Carleton University) OTTAWA (CUP) - The University of Windsor is supporting an anti-racism student group in its fight with Windsor Police Service after a predominately black party at the campus pub was violently shut down by more than 25 police officers.

Minimum sentences must be served in all situations On Feb. 29, the Supreme Court of Canada passed legislation granting Parliament the right to create mandatory minimum sentences under the Criminal Code. Along with the new legislation, individual courts (lower than the supreme court) can no longer grant "constitutional exemptions" for individual sentences.
