In the early morning of March 4, the body of an adult female was found by a passerby on the side of the road on Seventh Avenue, approximately 300 metres east from Victoria Avenue in Vineland, Ontario. Upon discovery, the District eight police force of Grimsby found that the victim displayed no vital signs, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Recently, the department of sociology at Brock University, along with the masters program in Social Justice and Equity studies, declared a moratorium on all research involving animals within the department, until the issue of vivisection at Brock can be investigated further.
Brock University opened its doors to Ontario Attorney General Michael Bryant on March 8, only to have them closed to the public for Bryant's speech on the impending changes to provincial human rights legislation. Addressing a full lecture hall of about 120 invited guests, Bryant relayed the plan to eliminate the backlog of human rights complaints that have built up over the years.

From the time the doors of Brock University opened up to the time they closed on March 6, five Brock students simulated a homeless environment to help raise money for Community Care, a local outreach program. Set up on the Canadian Tire Bridge, connecting Taro Hall and the Students' Centre, Kerri Lyn Grainger, Mandy Balaen, Courtney Dobias, Christina Mottola and Devon Rogers sat in their makeshift tent and lawn chairs, flagged down anyone who passed and relayed information about their cause and collected donations, both monetary and non-perishable food items.
On March 7, Brock's International Services department got together to celebrate Brock's cultural mosaic with their annual "Celebration of Nations" event. Full of exotic foods and colours, the celebration allowed international students of differing ethnicities to teach other students, faculty, and members of the community about their cultures.
