DON explores the art of architecture

For two days this month, over 120 heritage sites in Niagara will open their doors and invite the public in, free of charge, to explore the region's rich history and culture. Now entering its fourth year, Doors Open Niagara (DON) had its origins in Europe, where the first doors open event, "La Journée Portes Ouvertes" took place in France in 1984.

Amazing in a not-so-amazing kind of way

With a name like Into The Blue, there are instantly tons of preconceptions of typical shark attack movies, a la Deep Blue Sea, Jaws, and Open Water, starring teen idols with hot bodies. Into The Blue, featuring the abtastic Paul Walker and the bootylicious Jessica Alba, has plenty of shark attacks, but they are merely background noise for the master plotline involving sunken planes and drug deals gone bad.

Whedon finds Serenity

First things first; One: I am a Firefly fan, tried and true, as well as a bit of a Joss Whedon devotee, though not nearly as much as some of the fruithats that worship all things that spew from the man's pen. Two: I was fully prepared to review this film negatively, almost without seeing it this past weekend (though I of course did see it).
