Position: Assistant Sports & Health Editor

What you need to know about the job:

The position is on contract from September 2018 – April 2019. You must be available for all Production Days, which is every Monday starting at 9:00 a.m. If you have a class you’re allowed to step out.

Assistant Sports & Health Editor – This section covers Badger’s varsity sports, professional league sports, and coverage of health and wellness issues relevant to students.

An Assistant is required to write two to three articles per publication of about 700 words in length, with an additional article that will go online during the week. Every writer will be aware of their article topics by Tuesday afternoon and have a deadline to complete the articles by Saturday 5:00 p.m. Editors are required to brainstorm stories that include on-going campus and local news and investigative pieces. Editors must attend the events they are writing on and conduct interviews – representing The Brock Press in a professional manner.

The Assistant Sports & Health Editor will report to the Sports & Health Editor throughout the year. Applicant must be available on August 25 for training and August 26 for the first Production Day of the year.
