As part of this year’s Frost Week celebrations, Brock will be highlighting a number of clubs and off-campus partners at the bi-annual Vendor Fair.

Vendor Fair will take place on Wednesday, January 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Isaac’s Bar and Grill.

The fair is an opportunity to learn a bit more about the businesses, services and clubs, offered within St. Catharines and Niagara at large.

There will be booths set up and run by Brock University Student Union (BUSU) for the on-campus businesses and supports that they run, including BUSU Advocacy and the Student Justice Centre. There will also be tables for General Brock, Isaac’s Bar and Grill and newly ratified BUSU clubs for people looking to get more involved.

For individuals who have a chance to stop by the fair, there will be snacks available, as well as the opportunity to play some carnival games among other activities.

“Our partners are here for students and often bring coupons, prizes and special deals for students,” said Heidi Stricko, Vice President of Student Services at BUSU. “This year students even have the chance to win a pair of ski trip tickets to Holiday Valley, courtesy of CAA Beyond Campus and a pair of Raptors tickets, courtesy of the Student Life Network.”

Many students who have visited Vendor Fair in the past have expressed positive sentiments towards the event.

“I love the fair because it’s the easiest way to get a bunch of information you didn’t even know you were looking for,” said one second-year Brock student. “You just kind of walk around and see all these booths and get introduced to things offered at Brock or downtown or something that you didn’t even know were available.”

“[I think Vendor Fair] is great. I went to it last term during O-week and it was like a speed course on what to find at Brock. When I was done I felt like I had been at Brock for a long time,” said another first-year student. “I’m an international student so for me [the fair] was great. I met a lot of people and joined a club because of it. I’m really glad I went.”

“I’ve never been to the Frost Week [fair], but the BadgerFest [fair] was pretty cool. There were some fun games and free stuff that make you feel really welcome and a part of the school,” said another first-year student. “I’ve only been here for a term so I remember being a new student. I highly recommend any new or international students go check it out for a bit, play some games and get free stuff. It doesn’t take much but it feels great to be a part of.”

Students who desire to attend Vendor Fair or any other Frost Week event are encouraged to visit for more information.
