Where else could you drink wine, shop and help Community Care all in one stop?  Hernder Estate Winery craft show offers that unique experience.

From Friday, November 1 to Sunday, Nov. 3 Hernder will open their doors for their 25th annual craft show. The hours of operation run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. There are not many craft shows that have been around for 25 years but Hernder continues to draw in shoppers.

Angel Fusarelli, event coordinator at Hernder Estate Winery, explains why people might enjoy visiting their craft show,

“I think because we have everything under one roof. It is indoors so we don’t have to worry about the weather. We also have two floors but it is wheelchair and stroller friendly. People can come here and eat, do some wine tasting and sip some wine while they shop.”

This year, there are going to be at least 75 vendors along with fresh, professionally made soups, salads, beef on a bun, muffins and more.

Beyond the great vendors, food and wine, Fusarelli and Hernder are proud to support Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold at this event. Community Care will be present to greet shoppers at the door for the three day duration of the event. Community Care accepts both monetary donations and non-perishable food items.

Every year, Fusarelli tries to beat the amount given to Community Care from the previous year. According to Fusarelli and Hernder’s website, last year visitors to the Craft Show “donated 10,000 pounds of food and over $3000 to Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.”

For the last 20 years the craft show has been supporting Community Care and with the generosity of the community, they can surpass last years amount raised for families in need.

“A lot of people resent having to pay for admission into a craft show but helping people in your own backyard with non perishable goods and donations for other items is so generous,” said Fusarelli. “No matter what city you live in people need help one time or another.  Sometimes things happen. Everyone has a low part in their life and needs help.  They are having [Community Care] to help people.  It is amazing.”

Community Care will often contact Brock for volunteers but if anyone is looking for a volunteer opportunity, contact Community Care to help with event parking or as food collectors at 905-685-1349.

Interested individuals are welcome to attend the Hernder Estate Winery Craft Show to get some Christmas shopping done, taste wine, support Community Care or volunteer.
