Unattended laptops stolen at Brock

Campus Security is once again reminding students to not leave their personal belongings unattended.

On March 18, a bystander interrupted a male attempting to steal a laptop from a study kiosk in the James A. Gibson Library. The suspect fled the scene before Campus Security arrived.

The suspect is described as male in the range of 25 to 30 years old, brown skin, moustache, shoulder length black curly hair, loosely tied ponytail, wearing a ¾ length grey coat.

Following the incident, two laptops were successfully stolen.

This isn’t the first time Brock University has dealt with laptops being stolen. In November 2018, security increased its patrols in the library and began to leave bookmarks on unattended items that read “if I had time to leave this, a thief had time to take your things”.

Anyone missing their laptop should first check the library circulation desk to make sure the item has not been turned over to them. If not, students can contact Campus Security at x3200 to report the theft or if they have any details on the above suspect.
