March 2 - Brock University’s campus is closed until 10:00 a.m. due to the major snowfall that began Thursday evening into Friday morning. All classes before 10:00 a.m. will be cancelled, however the university will open at 10:00 a.m. to allow for snow removal crews to clear roads and sidewalks.
With an intense low pressure system coming from Texas, a large area of snow came with it, as it crossed over Pennsylvania. The temperatures began to dip Thursday afternoon, which led to rain and wet snow. Late Thursday night, the rain turned into snow and an estimated 15 to 30 cm’s has fallen in the region.
The snow is expected to stop around 9:00 a.m., according to The Weather Network.
St. Catharines experienced spring like weather earlier this week before being hit with winter once again. The city will get no more snow on the weekend after Friday morning with temperatures hovering around above zero.
