Most romantic destinations in Niagara Region

Being born and raised in Niagara, you would think I would be a bit bored of the local experiences and delights. But since we live in, attractions, one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world, situated near one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, there’s no shortage of fun things to do. Plus, the number of activities you can do only increases when you find that special someone to take part in them with. Here are some of the most romantic activities, restaurants, and places you and your significant other can check out this Valentine’s Day

Hornblower Niagara :                                                                 .
Hornblower replaced the famed Maid of the Mist a few years ago, which historically had provided tours of the Niagara Falls for around a hundred years. Despite the change in brand name, the experience remains pretty similar. The cruise ship will take you up close and personal to both the American and Canadian sides of the famed Niagara Falls.

The Falls:

If you don’t feel like getting wet and having to pay for a Hornblower cruise, you can simply take a nice walk down the Niagara Parkway at the end of Clifton Hill. The Falls are particularly beautiful from the Canadian side, and if you take a walk at night, you will be treated to two man-made displays: firstly, the illumination of the Fall with lights provided by the city of Niagara Falls, and if you walk on certain nights, a brilliant fireworks display over the water.

If you take a walk up Clifton Hill away from the Falls, you and your special someone can get a ride on the Niagara Skywheel, which is located in the middle of the famed Hill. You get a great view of the Falls from the top of the Skywheel, and most importantly, the pods are fully heated!

There are plenty of great places to get something to eat in the Falls — Carpaccio’s on Lundy’s Lane if you are feeling some Italian cuisine, The Keg Steakhouse, even the world famous Skylon Tower Revolving Dining Room. But in my opinion, none of them hold a candle Weinkeller. Located near Clifton Hill, the unique menu allows for a set choice of items, which are all cooked from local suppliers. There is also a winery inside the restaurant, so you can partake in trying some excellent Niagara wines while you feast on the delicious fresh food.

Butterfly Conservatory:

Want to take a trip outside Niagara Falls? Simply take a drive down the Niagara Parkway towards Niagara-on-the-Lake with your partner and you can stop by Niagara’s Butterfly Conservatory, which hosts a beautiful exhibit filled with all kinds of colourful butterflies.
