Niagara Falls annual Comic Con will be returning early June this year. The event will be held June 1 to the 3. The difference between this time around will be that Brock University will be the title sponsor. Brock taking on this role with Comic Con will allow for students to have the opportunity to get involved in the event.

Comic Con will be taking place at Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls. Ticket prices range from $15.95 to $274.95, depending on your age, what days you wish to attend, and what extra benefits you wish to have. Some extra benefits include front of the line access for celebrity autograph and photo sessions.

This year’s celebrities include: Michael Rooker, Dee Snider, Jonathan Frakes, Jaleel White, Chris Sarandon, William Roache, Sean Gunn, John Ratzenberg, George Wendt, Dean Cain, Wilford Brimley and Michael Biehn.

Besides the wide array of celebrities attending, there will be 200,000 square feet of comic books, artists, cosplay contests, video games and much more.

As such, the event will be of particular interest for students in Brock’s clubs centered around cosplaying and media such as: The Brock Anime club and the Brock Cosplay Club.

Although compared to the Los Angeles Comic Con, Niagara Falls Comic Con is smaller in size, last year the event hosted nearly 200,000 members of the Ontario community. The event shows promise for a similar turn out this year.

“I am really excited to hear that Brock is going to be a partner for the Niagara Falls Comic Con this year,” said Rebecca Balyk, a first-year student at Brock. “I am hoping it will provide me with opportunities to get involved at the event.”
