Brock mourns loss of professor

This week Brock University mourns the loss of beloved professor Zopito Marini. Marini died suddenly while in his hometown of Montebello di Bertona, Italy. Marini was an incredibly well liked professor; The Student’s Guide to Canadian Universities listed him as one of the highest rated professors to have ever worked with students at Brock. The feelings were mutual for Marini who in an interview with the Brock News stated that he loved his students, that they were part of the reason his job felt so worthwhile. Marini has been a professor with Brock at Brock since 1985 and co-founded Brock’s renowned Department of Child and Youth Studies, serving as its inaugural Chair.

Brock will miss such an impactful figure in the community and faculty and we should hope to follow in his footsteps of commitment to excellence for his students.
