With summer and graduation coming up soon, students are feeling more pressure to find work placements before the term comes to an end.
Brock University has partnered with CareerEco Virtual Career Fairs to provide students with an online platform that may help them find suitable jobs from the comfort of their own homes.
Happening online tomorrow (March 8) from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. students are invited to participate in the online job fair in which established recruiters are looking for summer, co-op, part-time and full-time employees. This means that students from all years can partake in the virtual career fair to potentially find something that is right for them.
Employers that are looking to recruit include: Government of Canada, Community Security Establishment, Goodlife Fitness, Industrios, Software, Jackson-Triggs winery, Inniskillin winery, Niagara Casinos and Sherwin-Williams Canada.
The online career fair will give students the opportunity to connect to these employers via online chat room as well as video chat if they so choose, to learn more about the positions the companies are hiring for as well as more about the work culture of the organizations.
According to the CareerEco platform hosting the career fair, these employers are looking for students from a variety of educational backgrounds ranging from labour studies to business management, to liberal arts and creative writing. More so, some employers, such as Government of Canada, are looking to recruit as many as 50 students at the virtual fair, and possibly more if they find fitting matches for their organizations.
The fair is free to all Brock students and the sign up is a simple and short process.
After successfully registering for the virtual fair, students will be given the opportunity to browse what each employer is looking for as well as what their particular chat times are, since not every employer will be recruiting throughout the full length of the event.
Students are encouraged to register and upload their resumes for the virtual career fair happening March 8 at www.CareerEco.com/events/Brock
