This past weekend welcomed 2017’s Niagara Twenty Valley Winter WineFest which took place in the historic Jordan Village. The event featured vendor tents from many of the local vineyards that the region is so famous for, new and old, including Fielding Estate Winery, Malivoire Wine Company, Redstone Winery, Rosewood Estates Winery, and many more.
Each winery and craft beverage company had a vendor tent with helpful staff ready to provide guests with tastings of wine, mead, icewine, and many other delicious and exciting beverages. On top of beverages, many of the tents offered food services with lots of variety from burgers to chili, to artisanal pizza from AVella’s Wood Fired Oven.
There were many fires lit to keep warm as well as a stage and a dance floor area in front of it. Every day there was live music and events right into the evening. Foggy Hogtown Boys started things off on Friday night followed by Vinyl Flux at the first afterparty.
Saturday was the main day of the festival with the Village open at noon and consisting of cooking competitions, a Fashion Show by local Jordan Village Merchants, a barrel rolling competition and a “Sparkling Dinner featuring Celebrity Chef David Rocco.” LMT Connection took the stage in the evening before the #shakethecave after party with The Reclaimers rocking all the partiers underground.
Finally, Sunday morning consisted of a Brunch, another fashion show, and an “Icewine Puck Shoot Out” using a puck made out of “freshly pressed Icewine grapes.” The festival was, as always, filled with fun and delicious food and drink to celebrate Icewine and the harvest!
