Why have you decided to run for this position?

“I had run for a Board of Directors two-year term in February. Sadly, I didn’t win but it was a close race. I love this school and I knew I wanted to do something with BUSU and BUSAC was a good avenue. BUSAC has a good opportunity to influence many things that happen at Brock. I want to be a part of that and make Brock as great as I expected it when I chose to attend it.”

What makes you the best candidate for this position?

“My passion and commitment for Brock is what makes me the best candidate. I’m only a first year and I’ve already been involved exponentially. Through being a don next year and my involvement with SMART Start, I’ll be working with first years and a large portion of the student body. I’m also involved with many clubs like: the eco club, relay for life, and I’m the treasurer of the photography club just to name a few. Through all my commitments at Brock, and all the people I’m interacting with, I’ll bring a wide array of views to BUSAC meetings and ensure that all the voices are advocated for. I will be able to bring forth the views and opinions of the student body.”

How do you plan to represent the students of your faculty?

“Communication is key. A lot of people this year felt as if BUSU wasn’t addressing the issues and this led to miscommunication within BUSU and between BUSU and Students. Through my commitments and events I’ve participated in this year, I’ve met many students in the faculty of Social Science. By being a part of BUSAC I will be a friendly face for those students to approach, as I will continue to ensure my image is present to students to voice their concerns. I want to have a clear line of communication and ensure all voices and opinions are heard.”

To the best of your knowledge, what is BUSAC and what does it do?

“BUSAC oversees the executives of BUSU. They help implement referendums and policies that correlate with BUSU. They work closely with clubs in regards to funding and their organization. One of the biggest things they do is that ensure BUSU follows through with their promises to students and that BUSU is the administrative body that students elected and expect.”
