Student-at-Large (16 seats available)
Why have you decided to run for this position?
“I’ve spent the last three years volunteering with the Residence Action Council. Next year I’ll be moving off campus but I want to stay involved especially in the student advocacy aspect of things and BUSAC is the best avenue for me to do that.”
Why do you believe you should be elected as a student-at-large?
“I have three years of experience working with an advocacy organization and a very strong sense of community within brock. I believe that I can play a strong component in improving the community and I’d like the chance to do that.”
How do you plan to represent the full diversity of students and programs on campus?
“I’m a very open minded individual. I would use that along with my willingness to go out of the way to connect to students. BUSAC allows counselors to do that and if nothing is established I would create my own way to become accessible to students. I would also make sure my own opinions don’t cloud what students are saying and listen to them first.”
To the best of your knowledge, what is BUSAC and what does it do?
“BUSAC is similar to a student counsel. It works with the politics of BUSU in terms of the various committees that they run. It works to advocate on behalf of the students which is the niche I’m after.”
