March 1 – Brock University has just announced that all campuses, including the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts in Downtown St. Catharines and the Hamilton Campus will be closed down starting at 5:00 p.m. tonight in anticipation of a winter storm which will soon hit the Niagara Region. Environment Canada issues a storm warning this morning at 10:50 a.m., and so far, no there looks to be little improvement in the conditions.
For Brock students, classes will run as normally scheduled until 5:00 p.m., after which, all activities, classes or other events will be cancelled. Students who are driving, taking public transportation or walking home should be advised to take necessary precautions on the trip home and are advised to stay off the roads whenever possible.
While the sleet and snow look to continue through Tuesday night, the University has stated that they will assess and come to a decision as to whether or not the school will remain closed on Wednesday March 2 by 6:30 a.m.
