Homecoming preview: Brock men’s lacrosse

ANDREW MELOFF

It’s that awesome time of year again — Homecoming. There isn’t a better event in the school year for Badger pride. This year’s homecoming is even more eventful as Badgers past and present celebrate Brock University’s 50th anniversary. I’ll give you a preview of the game to watch this Homecoming and an interview with Brock’s Athletic Director Chris Critelli.

But first, a universal Homecoming equation:

Five varsity sports events + Badgers’ decked out in red and white + Boomer + Home field advantage + Rowdiness = Brock University’s Homecoming. Get out there, be loud and show your support for our varsity athletes.

My favourite game at Homecoming last year was the Brock Men’s Lacrosse team taking on the Western Mustangs. The Badgers are coming off a 33-3 rout of Laurier and 17-6 victory against defending CUFLA champions McMaster Marauders. Brock looks to avenge a Homecoming loss against Western two years ago. UWO comes into the Badger’s Den following a 14-4 win against Guelph. Look for senior #50 Kyle Davis to wreak havoc on the UWO defense. Given the atmosphere and revenge in the air, the Badgers have to be the favourite in this game.

My prediction for the game: 18-9 Brock (my record, 2-0, called the 17-6)
