A few adjustments have been made by the filmmaker for non-comic readers, so the film might not be exactly the same as the comic version of GOTG.

The story begins when Peter Quill steals a precious orb and tries to sell it to the curator in Xandar. It does not turn out as well as Peter expected; he doesn’t make the deal and almost gets killed in the process, afterwhich, it is stolen by the assassin Gamora. Meanwhile, Rocket and Groot were trying to capture Peter, whose boss, Yondu, put a bounty on his head. Fighting for the orb, all four of them get caught by the Xandarian Nova Corps and get thrown in jail. That is where they meet Drax, a guy who wants to get his revenge against Gamora’s associate, Ronan, for the murder of his family.

Based on the comic Guardians of the Galaxy by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, (Marvel Comics) and directed by James Gunn, this movie makes your emotions go up and down with their best intergalactic jokes, emotional scenes with a lot of twists, and more. This movie stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro. If you enjoy a good laugh, are a comic fan, love music from the 80’s, or just someone who desperately needs to watch a new movie, this one is definitely for you.

Overall, the film has received a variety of mixed reviews but was received well by most of its audiences. It was given a 92 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 76 per cent on Metacritic. You don’t have to be a comic fan to enjoy the excitement this film has to over. It’s fast-paced, colourful and suspenseful. The comedic moments in the story also make it fun from what it otherwise an action-packed movie.

As far as Marvel films go, they seem to be hit or miss in the way they are received by their viewers, but Guardians of the Galaxy is definitely a hit. The animation and action in the movie will appeal to anyone with good taste.
