Continuing in the spirit of the season, downtown St Catharine’s held its Sno-Thrower event as part of the Winterfest festival on Jan 26.
In collaboration with Mahtay Cafe, Niagara Artists Centre, St. Catharines Performing Arts Centre and the St. Catharines Downtown Association, part of St. Paul Street from Garden Park and Carlisle was closed from the early afternoon to set up for the nights festivities which included wine, live music and an unforgiving breeze that continued to plague the area for the majority of the night.
Luckily, for those who attended the event, the majority of the festivities happened under a heated tent allowing for a much more personal and enjoyable experience.
The event featured several local performers s such as The Lucky Ones, The Windfall Foundation, Awesome Sauce, Paradise Animals and headliner Lindy with live music starting around 7:00 p.m. and concluding by 1:00 a.m.
“I had a really good time coming out today and the live bands were great too”, said Scott Bransen, 23 from Hamilton, Ontario who took a moment to share his feelings towards the Sno-Thrower bash as well as the Winter Festival.
“My friend originally invited me to come out and I was very skeptical however, I had a great day and certinally plan on coming around next year.”
