The month of October looks to be very busy for the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts. The events span a wide variety of subject areas and interests, spanning Drama, Visual Arts and Music. Here is a short preview of everything you can expect in the coming weeks from this truly artistic faculty.
From the Department of Music there are two upcoming performances by Brock University Faculty as part of their RBC Foundation Music@Noon Series. On October 8th, Erika Reiman – a Brock Music Department piano instructor – will show off her own musical talents at the Sean O’ Sullivan Theatre. Additionally, on October 29th, Erika Reiman will be returning for an accompaniment with Patricia Dydnansky who is a floutist for the Niagara Symphony orchestra as well as a Brock instructor.
From the Department of Visual Arts there is an Artist’s Talk on October 28th at the Pond Inlet from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. The event is free for all members of the community and will feature the artist, Althea Thauberger. More information on Thauberger on page 17.
From the Department of Dramatic Arts, we have the continuation of the Walker Cultural Leader Series 2013-2014 with a lecture on “Neuroscience, Creativity, and Learning: Recent Research and Connections to Drama in Education”. The free public lecture will be hosted by Patrice Baldwin and will be held on October 9th at 7:30 pm at the Pond Inlet.
