Newly acclaimed BUSAC councillors

As stated in last week’s issue there will not be an election for student councillors on Brock University’s Student Administrative Council (BUSAC) this year. This week, the Press spoke with the health science representatives, a business representative and a mathmatics and science representative.

Kimberlee Trakalo (applied health sciences)

Who are you?

I’m a third year physical education major.

What are your personal goals this year on BUSAC?

My first goal on BUSAC this year is to keep the applied heath science students informed.

My second goal is to broaden my knowledge on the way BUSAC is run.

What do you bring to BUSAC that is unique?

I think the most important thing I bring to BUSAC is an open mind. As for something unique, I am going to have to say the desire to learn about everything!

If students within your department have issues of concern, how can you help?

I would be more than willing to listen to their concerns. I would then bring them to BUSAC or tell them who they can speak to, depending on the concern.

Jeff Kerk (applied health sciences)

Who are you?

I am a community health science major.

What are your personal goals this year on BUSAC?

My goals for this year on BUSAC are to make community health sciences and applied health sciences more renowned at Brock. I would also like to improve communication between the administration and the students.

What do you bring to BUSAC that is unique?

I feel that as students we have the power to promote change. As a councillor I will act as a voice for the student, inparticular those of community health sciences.

If students within your department have issues of concern, how can you help?

Any issues of concern can be left at the BUSU office for Jeff Kerk.

Eric Humes (mathmatics and science)

I am in first year honours biotech co-op.

What are your personal goals this year on BUSAC?

My personal goals this year are to learn the way the student union works, and to express my opinion in order to make the school run as smoothly as possible.

What do you bring to BUSAC that is unique?

I bring five years of leadership skills, on top of being a very friendly person who is quite approchable.

If students within your department have issues of concern, how can you help?

If students have any issues or concerns they can write me at lucky_spencer@hotmail.com or approach me in class or the halls and I will always be willing to listen and bring up these issues at the next meeting.

I look forward to meeting many new interesting and amazing people.

Michael Sidenberg (business)

Who are you?

I’m a second year business administration major.

What are your personal goals this year on BUSAC?

My goal this year on BUSAC is to represent the Brock business student body to the best of my abilities.

What do you bring to BUSAC that is unique?

I bring a positive attitude to everything I do. I believe that nothing worth while in life comes easy. Half efforts do not produce half results, they produce no results.

If students within your department have issues of concern, how can you help?

If you ever have any problems feel free to stop me in the halls, or call me at ext. 7618. I’m sure that I will be able to help you with any of your concerns.
