Badgers partner with CFBU 103.7

CFBU 103.7 FM Radio Niagara, the campus and community radio station of Brock University, has officially announced its plans to carry live play-by-play of Brock Badger athletics throughout the season. The broadcast schedule began last Saturday when CFBU brought listeners the final of the 3rd annual Steel Blade hockey tournament (featuring Guelph, Ryerson, Conestoga College and Brock) from Thorold Arena.

The broadcast team will include the play-by-play of David Larkins, area sports reporter and host of CFBU’s sports talk show “Kings of the Hill,” with Chris Weber, currently sports editor of the Brock Press, handling colour commentary. Jason Belgrave, the other half of “Kings of the Hill,” will be the other voice on broadcasts throughout the season.

In all, CFBU will carry 15 Badger games in the 2001-2002 campaign including five hockey games and five double-headers of men’s and women’s basketball games. Among the highlights will be the men’s and women’s basketball double-header on November 24 against the McMaster Marauders and the men’s hockey clash with perennial rival University of Western Mustangs on November 30th. CFBU will also cover additional playoff games as necessary in 2002.
