The Muslims of Brock University and the NIgara Region unequivocally and strongly condemn and and all terrorist attacks against innocent civiliams here in America. These coordinate and concerted attacks inNew York, Washingotn, D.C. and Pennsylvania are a tragedy for the entire nation. We extend our most heartfelt condlolences to the victims of the nightmarish terror of September 11th and to their families. All members of the Musilim community are asked to offer whatever help they can to teh victims and their families. We are asking Muslim medical professionals to fo the the scenes of the attacks to offer aid and comfort to the victims. All local Muslim relief agencies should contact their counterparts in the U.S. to offer support in the recovery efforts. Individual Muslims should donate blood by contacting the local office of the Red Cross. They should also send donations to those relief agencies that are on the scenes of the attacks.
We further call on media professionals to exercise restraint and not draw premature conclusions and pointing fingers on every Muslim in the community as to whom was responsible for the attacks. We sincerely hope that violent attacks of revenge against American Muslim schoolchildren, women clother in Islamic attire, Muslim-owned businesses, mosques and Islamic centre — which did occur in the days after the Oklaholma City bombing — will not be repeated in the aftermath of the recent attacks.
We deplore the irresponsible reporting that twists the realities and complexities of the muslim work in order to project only Anti-American sentiment during this disturbing period when we are all attempting to move beyond the state of mourning for the national tragedy.
